ABOUT BORN TO BOOGIE DANCE CONNECTION

OUR VISION

Born to Boogie exits to create experiences for adults of all dance abilities to enjoy the fun, personal growth and connection of dancing in a class and performing on stage.

Our vision is our students feel included, valued and acknowledged for engaging in their passion for dance and their courage and commitment to learn and grow.

WHY PERFORMANCE?

Born to Boogie Dance Connection was created to give more people the opportunity to dance and perform at an amateur level.

Dance brings so much fun and joy to many individuals and performing adds an extra buzz and indescribable feeling that cannot be matched.

Classes are aimed at the beginner to intermediate level dancer and the focus is on fun and the joy of dance, not perfection of technique.

Performing doesn't have to be only for the professionals.  Many people who are attracted to Born to Boogie have danced at some level in their past, or are dance lovers yet have their own careers or families or both. They come to class because dancing makes them happy, and their performance show indulges their inner performer - that part of them that has a desire to express themselves through dance.

It's especially wonderful for those of us who've missed our calling as a professional dancer, showing that it's never too late

to follow that dream to perform.

Other students come to challenge themselves while some come to stretch their comfort zones. Born to Boogie is for anyone and everyone.

ABOUT TENNILLE

FOUNDER OF BORN TO BOOGIE

Dance has always bought me so much joy!  Over the years of learning to live a life of purpose and passion, my heart always comes back to dance. I dance at any opportunity I can as it's the one thing that makes me feel happy and alive. I've studied many styles at private dance schools and university levels which has all been wonderful, but my true love is a good old boogie to a groovy track with a bunch of other dance lovers, be that on stage, or with my children, or with friends - old and new.

I came up with the name Born to Boogie as not only does it reflect a big part of who I am, but also the many individuals who were also born to boogie.  You know when you are - a great track comes on, and your body can't help but move! Born to Boogie isn't about being the best.  It's about dancing because you love it and putting your energy into it because it makes you feel amazing. As author Vickie Baum so aptly put "There are shortcuts to happiness and dancing is one of them".

Nothing makes me smile more than seeing our participants enjoying themselves in their lessons and shining on stage. At those times, it is the realisation of my vision that has come to fruition. Born to Boogie is for the people. I am inspired by their courage to shine their light as we are all born to do.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? ... as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." Marianne Williamson

Thank you for visiting, and I hope to see you on the dance floor!
